      [Fiction Express] Project Assessment Rubric

      The Fiction Express assessment rubric helps teachers evaluate students’ work in a structured and objective way. It focuses on reading engagement, project development, and language skills.

      📌 What is this rubric?

      It’s a guide for evaluating student performance across four levels (1 to 4), from emerging to excellent. The rubric includes clear descriptors that help identify how well key competencies have been developed during the Fiction Express project.

      🧩 What areas are assessed?

      The rubric is divided into 4 main categories:

      1️⃣ Engagement with the project and book

      • Reading + quiz performance

      • Completion of worksheet activities

      • Active participation in the project

      • Research and appropriate use of external materials

      2️⃣ Language competence

      • Oral expression

      • Oral comprehension

      • Written expression

      • Reading comprehension

      3️⃣ Project organization and development

      • Teamwork and collaboration

      • Autonomy and initiative

      • Time management and task distribution

      4️⃣ Project presentation

      • Final project quality

      • Use of visual support

      • Clarity and effectiveness of communication

      ✅ How to use it

      1. Choose the level (1 to 4) that best matches the student’s performance in each category.

      2. Use the descriptors as a guide to explain your evaluation.

      3. Optionally, add personal observations or include student self-assessments.
