✍️ What is the purpose of the forum?

  • To promote written interaction between students and the author.

  • To develop linguistic competence, especially written expression.

  • To provide a safe, creative space for sharing ideas that help shape the story.

🔁 How does it work?

  • The forum stays open during the 5-week story cycle.

  • There are always two active questions at any given time, which change regularly.

  • Student responses must meet a minimum length (depending on level) and relate to the question's theme.

  • The prompts are designed to help students practise different text types:

    • Argumentative

    • Descriptive

    • Expository

    • Narrative

    • (And occasionally persuasive or predictive)

🛡️ Content safety and recognition

  • The system detects inappropriate content and prompts the student to revise it before posting.

  • High-quality contributions may be recognised with a Featured Comment Certificate.

🎓 Tools for teachers

In the forum section, teachers have access to a Review tab where they can:

  • View and manage all posts by their students.

  • Take action on comments that are:

    • 🔹 Reported by users.

    • 🔹 Blocked by the content filter.

    • 🔹 Invalidated by moderators.

    • 🔹 Edited by the teacher to fix minor spelling/grammar issues.

Teachers are responsible for their students’ posts and are provided with the tools needed to monitor and guide forum participation effectively.

💡 Tip: Use the forum prompts as writing assignments or discussion starters in class. It’s a great way to bring purposeful writing into your language lessons!
