      [Fiction Express] Author meetings – A unique experience for awarded students

      Author meetings is an exclusive opportunity for students who have stood out for their forum participation during the reading of a Live Book in Fiction Express.

      📌 What are Author meetings?

      📖 At the end of each Live Book cycle, Fiction Express organises a live virtual event between the author and a small group of students recognised for their active contributions in the forum.

      ✔️ Each author selects up to 50 students who have made valuable contributions.
      ✔️ Teachers receive a personalised certificate via email to give to the awarded student.
      ✔️ After the book ends, the Zoom invitation is sent by email.

      💡 It’s an exclusive experience for awarded students, but it can also be screened in class for everyone to enjoy.

      ✉️ What should the teacher do?

      1️⃣ Check your email during the book cycle

      • You’ll receive the PDF certificate if one of your students is selected

      • At the end of the book, you’ll get the Zoom invitation link

      2️⃣ Print and present the certificate to the student

      • Share it on social media to celebrate the recognition

      • It’s a moment of pride for the student and the school

      3️⃣ Prepare the student for the meeting

      • Encourage them to join with enthusiasm and prepare two questions for the author

      • Questions can be about the book, their career, writing process or their experience with Fiction Express

      • Remind them of the importance of this moment: they were selected among thousands of readers

      🎥 During the meeting
      ✔️ Screen the meeting in class if possible – even if only the selected student speaks, everyone benefits
      ✔️ Make sure the student joins Zoom with their full name so the Fiction Express team can give them the floor
      ✔️ If there are tech issues, use the Zoom chat to reach us – someone will always be available to help
      ✔️ Support the student, whether they join from class or home – these events strengthen reading motivation

      💡 The session starts on time but may run a few minutes over to allow all students to participate.

      📚 After the meeting

      💬 Create reflection activities in class:

      • What questions were asked?

      • What did they learn about being a writer?

      • Did speaking with the author change how they saw the book?
